Rent-A-Dancer
Regular RAD is on hiatus right now until the fall semester. However, some of the Ballroom Dance Club members will be in the Charlottesville area during summer, so if you have any special requests for RAD, please email both Cheryl and Elise and we might be able to help you out!
The Rent-A-Dancer Program (RAD) is the club’s most important fundraising endeavor and we hope that you will participate in this semester’s community outreach program. Here are the benefits of hiring us:
- We will do your unwanted chores - (your raking, weeding, planting, mulching, window cleaning, brush-clearing, baby-sitting, and more)
- You will become a philanthropist - (and feel the resulting giddiness of having made the world a better place)
- You will receive a receipt for a tax deduction of 50% for your donation
- You will meet UVA’s most friendly, hard-working, graceful, and wholesome students
- You will be invited as guests to our showcase performances at the University
Some homeowners feel that they do not have enough work to warrant having two students for an entire day. In order to work around this, here are a couple of options:
- hire 2 students for only 3.5 hours this semester
- team up with your neighbor and split up the work between two homes
To Sign Up:
- Send our Fundraising Chair an email saying you’re interested in hiring some students
- Decide whether you would like 2 students from 9:00am to 5:00pm ($200 donation) OR if you would like 2 students from 9:00am to 12:30pm or 1:30pm to 5pm ($120 donation)
- Choose a date for Fall 2008: TBA
- Arrange to offer your students some lunch, and have a backup plan in the event of rain
- Transportation to and from your home is appreciated but not required
If you have any questions, hesitations, or concerns, the Fundraising Chair is available to address them.
We are also willing to be flexible if these times and arrangements don’t work for you. Please feel free to pass on this website to friends and family who may also be interested in sustaining UVA’s best club sport!
Sincerely,
Officers of the Ballroom Dance Club at UVA
